Explore Downtown Living Returns May 20

Downtown Minneapolis is all about community. It’s about the culture, entertainment and incredible opportunities located right outside your front door.

It’s a hot commodity. And it’s time for you to be part of it.

The downtown residential community has grown to more than 40,000 people—a 30 percent increase over the past decade. There’s a reason for that. Millennials, empty nesters and families alike are making the move downtown because of all the city’s core has to offer. You can see it first hand during Explore Downtown Living, which takes place Saturday May 20 from 10 am-5 pm.

Now in its third year, Explore Downtown Living is a free event that offers a chance for you to see downtown like never before. Tour more than 20 residential properties, enjoy great promotions and giveaways at different restaurants, bars, retail shops, fitness centers and more, and experience downtown’s five neighborhoods in a whole new way.

Take a stroll through The Commons, a new park in East Town. Enjoy the boutique shops in the North Loop. See the progress of the Nicollet Mall Project. Take in a skyline view from Loring Park. And enjoy the craft brew and bar scene in Northeast and throughout downtown.

You have a chance to get a preview of what makes downtown special.

The residential properties, which include a few new locations like Maverick, Encore and 7west, have amenities you’ve always wanted. Party rooms, fitness centers, pools, rooftop access and pet parks. Their surrounding neighborhoods have parks, beautiful riverfront access, unique cuisine, professional sports, Broadway shows and more. You are part of the action when you live downtown.

Explore Downtown Living gives people a chance to see it all up close. The event has piqued the interest of 3,500 different individuals and has facilitated 14,232 apartment views over six event days since May 2015.

The event is a product of the mpls downtown council’s Intersections: The Downtown 2025 Plan Development committee, which has a goal of doubling the downtown population by the year 2025. More residents make active streets, which creates a vibrant downtown core. Plus, our downtown is booming with new development and great job opportunities. Living downtown creates a short commute and a convenient lifestyle in the heart of the city.

Signing up is easy. Visit www.exploredtliving.com and click on the register tab. You just need to provide your name and email, and you’re all set. Your Field Guide is your all-access pass to the different residential properties and promotional opportunities. You can pick it up in advance at any Whole Foods location within one week leading up to the event, or you can pick it up at the first residential property you visit on the day of the event. From there, you’re able to choose which properties you visit and which sights you see.

You can navigate downtown with the Explore Downtown Living map at www.exploredtliving.com/map, which offers directions from your current location to your next stop. You can also find free parking at select locations throughout downtown, and those can be found at www.exploredtliving.com/parking.

All residential properties are asked to answer questions but not solicit tenants, so your sign-up information will not be used to send you additional promotional information from the different properties. There is no risk in taking part—only an opportunity to freely visit different properties and neighborhoods on one eventful day.

So don’t just see the sights. Live them. Explore Downtown Living and see which of the 1 million reasons to live downtown is right for you.
