good morning mpls features scuplture garden, made here projects

The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, Meet Minneapolis and the mpls downtown council hosted its latest Good Morning Minneapolis event on Friday at Le Meridien Chambers on Hennepin Avenue. The event, made possible by presenting sponsor Xcel Energy and series sponsor BMO Harris Bank, focused on two specific areas of arts and culture in our downtown community and how they are transforming the downtown experience.

The program featured Walker Art Center director Olga Viso and Hennepin Theatre Trust vice president of external relations Naomi Pesky discussing “Art Inside Out: The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and Made Here”. Viso described the renovation currently going on at the Sculpture Garden and all the new pieces that will be placed in the garden once it is completed in June 2017. Pesky described the Made Here program, which over the past few years has offered walking art gallery tours throughout downtown–turning vacant storefront windows into displays celebrating local artists in the process.

The Good Morning Minneapolis series is open to our membership and offers a chance to enjoy a breakfast, networking and a conversation about some of the initiatives and programs going on in the downtown area.
