a musical weekend in downtown mpls

Do you enjoy live music? if so, then you are in luck for the next couple of days in mpls. Stadiums such as Target Field and U.S. Bank Stadium will fill with crowds this weekend for a number of very highly anticipated concerts.

The big shows will begin with Billy Joel on Friday evening at Target Field. Joel, known for classics, such as  “Piano Man” or “Uptown Girl” just to name a few, is currently on a stadium tour across the entire United States. His stop at Target Field will take place on July 28th, beginning at 8 pm with gates opening at 6 pm. Before Joel takes the stage, the Minnesota Twins announced earlier this week that Gavin DeGraw will open the concert.

On Saturday night, Target Field will continue its busy weekend with a star-studded lineup of Florida Georgia Line, Nelly, Backstreet Boys, and Chris Lane. Headliner Florida Georgia Line is a country group that is widely popular throughout the entire country, most known for hits such as, “God, Your Mama, And Me,” “Cruise,” and many others. Before FGL takes the stage, there will be somewhat of a blast from the past feel with Backstreet Boys & Nelly hitting the stage. This should be a super fun, entertaining night of outdoor music.

To close the musical weekend in mpls out, Guns N Roses will come to town on Sunday. The classic rock legends will be playing at U.S. Bank Stadium with the Deftones as the opening act. This is the first concert of the summer at U.S. Bank Stadium, with Coldplay and U2 still to come later this summer.

We hope you are able to make your way to downtown mpls this weekend for some of these wonderful concerts. There’s a bit of everything for everyone, so come check this musical weekend out!
