People Serving People Needs Halloween Costumes

People Serving People needs a helping hand for their Halloween parade this month. The downtown mpls emergency shelter hosts the parade annually for children staying there, with all of them clad in donated Halloween costumes. While People Serving People normally has no issue receiving enough costumes, they have received none this year. The costumes are needed by Friday, October 20.

Without enough costumes, they may need to cancel their parade.

People Serving People hopes to gather 200 new or gently used costumes for children ages 12 months to 13 years, 100 for boys and 100 for girls. Donations can be brought to People Serving People at 614 3rd Street South from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays from 1-3:30 p.m.

People Serving People houses 350 people each night, and a majority of the guests are children. The average age of those children is 6 years old.
