photos: 2017 mpls downtown council annual meeting

The mpls downtown council hosted its 61st annual meeting on Thursday at the Minneapolis Convention Center. A record 1,200 people registered for the event, and it included 90 minutes of entertainment, facts and speakers that make up our downtown community. The event included remarks from Target Chairman & CEO  Brian Cornell, who announced a $10 million renovation to their Nicollet Mall store. We also celebrated award winners, announced that the latest downtown residential population is 40,864 and showcased our most recent list of downtown’s top 15 employers. Our year in review highlighted all things downtown including development, transit, safety, greening, arts/culture and entertainment, and we had a great performance by The Shout House’s dueling piano players. Each person who came to the Annual Meeting received a complimentary Love Your Melon beanie with the mdc logo attached.

Thank you to all who took part in our 61st Annual Meeting. Here are a few photos of the event.
