photos: pianos on parade coming this June

The mpls downtown council and mpls downtown improvement district, in partnership with Keys 4/4 Kids, is bringing Pianos on Parade back to downtown Mpls this June. Like last year, 25 different pianos will be displayed throughout the downtown area from June 1 through June 30. These pianos will be available for the public to play for free throughout the month, and special piano performances will be taking place each Tuesday from 12 pm-1 pm at each location. Additional pop-up performances will be announced throughout the month.

The pianos are being painted by up-and-coming local artists with the theme of “summer time in downtown Mpls”. These photos were taken this week as the artists continue to paint their work. They pianos themselves can be seen and played beginning June 1.
